A private Basic Kayak class for the women of TOWN and guest.

If you've ever tried a kayak, you know it is not always easy to get it to do what you want. This 4+ hour class will cover the 6 basic strokes, equipment, safety, wet exits, and how to do a rescue in the event of a capsize. By the end of the class you will be able to maneuver your kayak with ease, and you will know when to paddle and when to stay on shore, as well as how to rescue and be rescued.

The class 4 hour class is taught in two parts. We begin on land (in the shade), then break for lunch, then move to the water and finish with learning wet exit and rescues (optional).

Our teachers are all ACA (American Canoe Association) certified instructors. $60 (reg $65) Includes all equipment: boat, paddle, and PFD (life jacket). You may use your own kayak if you have one.

Bring sunscreen, hat, drinking water, lunch or snack for the break, water friendly footwear (no crocs or flip-flops), and appropriate non-cotton clothing. Change of clothing for after the class is suggested.
